Nanyang Technological University GEM Trailblazer Summer Programme 2024

Introduction: The GEM Trailblazer Summer 2024 programme offers more than 20 courses across 5 tracks.  From experiencing a full Asian cultural experience to opportunities in enhancing your future business career in Asia and staying abreast with the latest technology in 3D Printing!

Dates:
June 26th, 2024, to July 13th, 2024 (2-week)
July 10th, 2024 to July 27th, 2024 (2-week)
June 26th, 2024 to July 27th, 2024 (4-week)

Course Fee: (Collected by Nanyang Technological University)

(1) Tuition Fee (for each 3 or 4-AU course): USD1308/per course
(2) Registration Fee (one-time charge): USD115
(3) Administrative Fee (one-time charge): USD688
(4) On-campus accommodation charges: USD428(17 nights/ 2-week program),USD788(31 nights/4-week program)

Scholarship and quota: 6 spots for undergraduate students in NCKU. Waived for up to two courses for the tuition fee. Registration Fee, Administrative Fee, and accommodation charges shall be the responsibilities of the students. 

Registration Requirements:

(1) Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at NCKU.
(2) Must meet minimum grade requirement GPA of 2.5/5.0 (or 2.0/4.0).
(3) English proficiency must meet IELTS 6 (overall) and 6 (writing) or TOEFL/ TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: a minimum of 600 (paper) or 90 (internet) or 237 (computer). 

Registration Process:
The on-campus registration deadline is February 21th, 2024, at 17:00. Participating students register the activity via:

And submit the following documents in the system before the deadline.
(1)Letter of consent from guardian (attachment).
(2)Transcript.
(3)Certificate of Enrollment.
(4)Other supporting documents (e.g., language certificates, extra-curricular activities, awards, etc.).
(5)Short-term activity on-campus selection registration form (attachment).*if needed

Selection criteria: Motivation (40%), Transcript (30%), Relevant information (30%).

*The results of the first round of selection will be announced on the website on March 6th, 2024. Students who are selected must submit $2000 NTD deposit before March 10th, 2024.

Admission Notes:
(1) NCKU OIA will assist in sending students' nomination information to the program office at Nanyang Technological University.
(2) After being nominated qualification notification from our division, please complete the event registration procedures on the Nanyang Technological University application system and pay attention to the payment deadline.
(3) The OIA only announces or assists in the registration of short-term activities or courses offered by partner institutions. Whether the credits earned from these short-term courses can be transferred to NCKU depends on the regulations of the Academic Affairs Office. If the event dates coincide with the regular semester at NCKU, students must follow the regulations of NCKU to apply for leave.
(4) Within one month after returning to Taiwan, participants are required to submit a reflection report of at least 1000 words. Once the report is received by our office, the $2000 NTD deposit submitted earlier will be refunded. (Please refer to the attachment for the report format.)
(5) For questions regarding local courses, accommodation, registration, etc., please contact the short-term activity office of the host institution.

  • TOEFL MyBest scores are not accepted
  • For IELTS and TOEFL, only scores obtained in the 2 years leading up to the application deadline will be considered
