【Announcement】Winter School 2024 Universität Tübingen "Tübingen International & European Studies "

Introduction: The winter school 2024 (T-IES) offers students a unique chance to study at one of Germany’s most renowned Universities. Students do not just learn about European societies – they experience Europe up close on two different Study Tracks.


Dates: January 8th, 2024, to February 2nd, 2024 (4 weeks)


Course Content:
1.SUBJECT COURSES: Students can choose between two different Study Tracks. Each Track comprises three courses taught in English. Class sessions are highly interactive, intercultural and combine both traditional and innovative teaching styles, including field trips and field research.
2.GERMAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE: Students will attend a German language class (A0-A2) and gain one of the key qualifications in an increasingly globalized world: Intercultural competence.

Course Fee: €1800 (Collected by Universität Tübingen)


Registration Requirements:
(A) Must be an undergraduate student aged 18 or above.
(B) English proficiency must meet or exceed CEFR B2 level.

Quota: 2 guaranteed spots. Students can also register through the website, but selection is not guaranteed.

Registration Process:
The on-campus registration deadline is August 23rd, 2023, at 17:00. Participating students should upload the following documents before the deadline.
(1)Letter of consent from guardian (attachment).
(2)Transcript.
(3)Certificate of Enrollment.
(4)Other supporting documents (e.g., language certificates, extra-curricular activities, awards, etc.).
(5)Short-term activity on-campus selection registration form (attachment).*if needed

 Selection criteria: Motivation (40%), Transcript (30%), Relevant information (30%).


*The results of the first round of selection will be announced on the website on August 31st, 2023. Students who are selected must submit $2000 NTD deposit before September 5th, 2023.

Admission Notes:
(1) NCKU OIA will assist in sending students' nomination information to the program office at Universität Tübingen.
(2) After receiving the nomination qualification notification from our division, please complete the event registration procedures on the Universität Tübingen event website and pay attention to the payment deadline.
(3) The OIA only announces or assists in the registration of short-term activities or courses offered by partner institutions. Whether the credits earned from these short-term courses can be transferred to NCKU depends on the regulations of the Academic Affairs Office. If the event dates coincide with the regular semester at NCKU, students must follow the regulations of NCKU to apply for leave.
(4) Within one month after returning to Taiwan, participants are required to submit a reflection report of at least 1000 words. Once the report is received by our office, the $2000 NTD deposit submitted earlier will be refunded. (Please refer to the attachment for the report format.)
(5) For questions regarding local courses, accommodation, registration, etc., please contact the short-term activity office of the host institution.

Other ability requirements

Registration Requirements:
(1) Must be an undergraduate student aged 18 or above.
(2) English proficiency must meet CEFR B2 level or above: 
  • Applicants should have at least a high B2 level of English proficiency according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Please preferably submit a proof of the following institutions: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication), CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Examinations Certificate by the University of Cambridge

Other certifications will be accepted if the results are comparable to the levels of the CEFR.
